Welcome to Hakoniwado

or “Hakoniwado” can be translated as a miniature garden (in a box). We hope that our customers will receive a piece of Japanese culture even outside of Japan.

We offer various tea from Yame and Ureshino, which are most south tea growing regions in Japan. Yame is considered one of best tea growing regions and is well known in Japan. Ureshino region is known for it's curly shaped tea, their processing methods date back to 1504, when it was first introduced from China during the Ming Dynasty.

If you were disappointed by taste of green tea bought in a local shop, please consider trying it once more. Taste of green tea can vary greatly depends on many variables such as brewing methods, season when tea was harvested, processing method, proper storage and packing, age of tea. Quality Japanese tea is still rare outside of Japan and it's really easy to get wrong impression from trying something of mediocre quality.
